Life for residents of Vita at Grove Isle is a gift. One of the many perks of living in these Coconut Grove residences is the consistently wonderful weather. Another is the sheer number of outdoor bars in which to enjoy it. Here, we pull up a stool at four of our all-time spots for sipping rum (or whatever your tipple of choice) in the Miami sun.
Level 6 Miami | 3480 Main Highway
Level 6 is a captivating rooftop oasis and restaurant located in Coconut Grove. With a focus on shared experiences, it offers a modern twist on Spanish cuisine, featuring tapas and larger sharing plates influenced by various cultures and the flavors of Florida. The bar menu boasts vibrant cocktails infused with local herbs and fruits, complemented by an extensive wine and champagne list. Set against the stunning backdrop of Biscayne Bay, Level 6 invites guests to immerse themselves in the elevated atmosphere, curated music, and impeccable service. Whether it's a relaxed sundowner or a lively evening of cocktails and tapas, this hidden gem provides a warm and welcoming escape, encouraging guests to connect and indulge their senses.
Regatta Harbour | 3385 Pan American Drive
A classy catchall venue, this waterfront complex plies Miamians with everything from alfresco exercise sessions to fine dining and live concerts. Naturally, Regatta Harbour is also a tip-top spot to savor an evening cocktail; few things can beat sipping a chilled glass of fizz or a tropical cocktail laced with Miami Club Coconut Grove Coconut Rum while watching the sunset over the Dinner Key Channel. That it's a mere seven-minute drive from Vita at Grove Isle means you could wind up here a lot—and that's no bad thing.
Monty's Coconut Grove | 2550 South Bayshore Drive
Home to “Miami's best happy hour,” Monty's pours $6 cocktails Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm, making it a shoo-in for after-work drinks or the perfect lead-in to a more extravagant night on the town. Pair your mojito with peel-and-eat Florida Keys shrimp and let the live musicians serenade you with Caribbean classics. This is what Coconut Grove is all about. Same time next week?
Bayshore Club | 3391 Pan American Drive
Overlooking the glistening Dinner Key, this high-end bar and grill takes inspiration from its history as the place where the Pan American World Airways flying boats launched during the golden age of air travel. Cocktails feature the Come Fly with Me—an Aperol spritz crafted with passion fruit and fresh lime—and the Pan American, a heady concoction of mezcal, ginger liqueur, and hibiscus syrup that'll see your evening take off in style. Bayshore Club's food is also exceptional—go for the Atlanticville fried oysters with house-made chorizo, with the seared mojo snapper to follow.
Glass & Vine | 2820 McFarlane Road
Glass & Vine bills itself as a "secret garden by the sea," but chances are you've already seen their dazzlingly lit trees on social media—and any Coconut Grove local worth their salt will know about this paradisiacal outdoor bar. As Mangrove Mint and Bayview Spritz cocktails are served at the table, lose yourself in the alfresco music sessions that unfold on Wednesdays (jazz), Thursdays (funk), Fridays (Latin jazz), and Saturdays (soul). One of the great Miami drinking experiences.
